All Podiatrist/Chiropodists members of the College of Podiatrists must all be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). This means that we must undertake continued professional development which allows us to continue calling ourselves Podiatrists / Chiropodists. The practitioner must also attain a minimum standard of qualifications to be able practice. Anyone without those qualifications is not allowed to call themselves a Podiatrist or Chiropodist.
WHAT TO EXPECT
ON YOUR FIRST VISIT
Chiropody / Podiatry
An initial Consultation with one of our Podiatrists will include taking a full medical history. This also includes a list of your current medication. This information can influence the treatment we offer you.
We will ask you about your reason for visiting the practice. The podiatrist will then look at your problem and do an assessment of your feet and legs.
From all the information gathered it will be explained to you what needs to be done and answer any questions you might have.
With your agreement the Podiatrist will undertake the necessary treatment.

THE EXPERTS
MEET THE TEAM

SHEONA BATH
MEMBER OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY. REGISTERED WITH HCPC (No. CH10774)
I qualified in 1990 from the Glasgow School of Chiropody with a Diploma in Chiropody. In 1994 I upgraded the Diploma to a BSc. Degree in Podiatric Medicine from Salford University.
My first job was in the Orkney Islands, Scotland working for 2 years there. I worked mainly in a clinical setting but also had to travel, by sea or air, to various outlying islands treating patients who were unable to attend the mainland clinic. I then moved to a job in Manchester working for 17 years with the NHS and Specialising as a Diabetes Specialist Podiatrist. I undertook research in the high risk foot and worked with a multidisciplinary team at Manchester Foot Hospital and Manchester Diabetes Centre at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
In 2005 I set up my private Podiatry practice and I decided that it was time to try new avenues of opportunity so 2 years later I resigned from my post in the NHS and concentrated more on my practice.
In 2011 I jumped at the opportunity to open my own premises on Charlotte Street and here I am now running a business that I love and have a lot of enjoyment from.

RACHEL SMITH
MEMBER OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY. REGISTERED WITH HCPC (No. CH11954 )
I qualified from the Northern College of Chiropody in 1993 and obtained a BSc. Hons. Degree in Podiatry. I have worked with the NHS for 18 years in the Manchester area in Primary Care.
I specialise in the treatment of High Risk patients and like Sheona I have an interest in Diabetes.
Before my Podiatry career I gained a Diploma in Radiography and also spent several years working in Elderly Care. The key theme running through all my work is that I enjoy working with people and helping them.

FREYA GREGORY
MEMBER OF THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY. REGISTERED WITH HCPC (No. CH34060)
I qualified in 2015 from the University of Southampton with a BSc Hons Degree in Podiatry.
After qualifying I joined the podiatry team at the East Cheshire NHS Trust, and continue to develop my expertise in Wound Care, High Risk and Biomechanics.
I joined the team at Feet @ Macclesfield in 2016 and deliver care in clinic and through home visits.
I enjoy meeting new patients. I am always cheerful and caring, and take pride in the relationship I build with patients. My goal is to ease pain and discomfort while treating my patients with and compassion.
